OEM numbers
Current service solenoid BR3Z-6M280-F replaces BR3Z-6M280-D/E/A in checked Ford catalog material. Ford Performance M-6297-M50A is a four-solenoid high-strength set with a documented 2013-up Mustang applicationverify 2011-2012 before using it.Supersession
BR3Z-6M280-A/D/E -> BR3Z-6M280-F is supported for the checked service solenoid. M-6297-M50A is an upgrade set, not the same supersession chain and not documented by Ford.com for 2011-2012 Mustang.

Genuine service solenoids and a Ford Performance high-strength set are available. The Ford Performance set has narrower published year/position language and must not be generalized to every first-gen Coyote position.
Before you buy
This is a 5.0L first-generation Coyote guide. Diagnose oil supply, wiring, sensor, solenoid, phaser and mechanical timing separately. Ford currently describes the high-strength set for 2013-up Mustang; do not assume 2011-2012 coverage.
