What you need to know

Confirm factory naturally aspirated 2011-2014 Mustang GT 5.0L, VIN/build and stock accessory layout. Ford's workshop manual shows a six-rib serpentine FEAD belt with an automatic tensioner plus a separate V-ribbed A/C compressor stretch belt; the system is not manually adjustable and correct belt length, routing, pulley alignment and cleanliness matter. BR3Z-6B209-H and BR3Z-8678-A serve the main FEAD only; the A/C belt has no tensioner/idler. Ford directs cutting and discarding the old A/C belt and installing a new belt by the current specified procedure. Diagnose contamination, misrouting, pulley wobble/bearing roughness, tensioner travel/damping and accessory drag before replacing parts. Never lubricate or apply belt dressing to belts, pulleys or tensioner. Do not pry, improvise a route or assume either belt includes tools, tensioner, idler or mounting hardware.

OEM numbers

Main six-rib FEAD/serpentine belt BR3Z-8620-D. Separate A/C compressor belt BR3Z-8620-A -> BR3Z-8620-R. Main-FEAD service tensioner BR3Z-6B209-Hthe checked 2011 catalog shows early-production BR3Z-6B209-B replaced by H. Main-FEAD idler pulley BR3Z-8678-A. The separate A/C belt has no tensioner or idler. The tensioner includes its pulley on the checked LMR pathbelt, idler, mounting bolt and other hardware remain separate unless a listing expressly includes them.

Supersession

Checked service chains are BR3Z-8620-A -> BR3Z-8620-R for the A/C belt and early-production BR3Z-6B209-B -> BR3Z-6B209-H for the tensioner. No supersession is asserted for main belt BR3Z-8620-D or idler BR3Z-8678-A. These are separate component/position families, not interchangeable numbers.

Fitment

Aftermarket options

Steeda 555-3361 is a checked billet idler/tensioner-pulley kit for 2011-2014 GT 5.0L; it is an aftermarket material/appearance path, not a Ford supersession and not a complete tensioner or belt kit. Other aftermarket belts were not retained as identity proof. Require exact belt position/length/rib count, stock pulley geometry, bearing state and included pieces.

Before you buy

US/LHD 2011-2014 factory naturally aspirated Mustang GT 5.0L only; Boss, Shelby, V6, supercharger and swap drives are excluded. The main six-rib FEAD belt and separate A/C compressor stretch belt are different positions; the main FEAD uses the tensioner/idler, while the A/C belt has neither. Ford directs cutting/discarding the old A/C belt and using the current specified installation method for the new belt. Confirm VIN/build, installed numbers, routing, rib count/length, pulley alignment, tensioner behavior and accessory drag. Never lubricate or use belt dressing. Belts, tensioner, idler, tools and hardware are not assumed bundled. Seller states are dated observations.
