S13/S14 Front Ball Joints & Chassis-Specific Tension Rods

Aftermarket fitment page, not a Nissan supersession chain. The prior S13-equals-K9509 / S14-equals-K9820 shortcut was corrected: the checked catalog splits at 03/1994, so production date/VIN controls the transition.

Confirm production date before pressing in a ball joint, especially a 1994 car. K9509 and K9820 are left/right units sold individually. An S14-knuckle conversion on an S13 is a modified application and must follow the chosen knuckle/arm geometry, not the stock S13 lookup. S13 and S14 tension rods use different seller listings.

Checked MOOG K9509 and K9820 stock-replacement ball joints and GKTech V5 S13 adjustable tension rods. Adjustable arms change caster and add spherical-joint maintenance/NVH; a wheel alignment is required after installation.

Ball-joint fitment splits by production date around 03/1994, not simply S13 versus S14. Sold individually; order two. Confirm chassis-specific tension rods and align the car after replacement or adjustment.
