NA/NB plastic end-tank discoloration/cracking is a real buyer warning. Manual vs automatic radiator/trans-cooler configuration matters; do not call every NA/NB radiator the same.
OEM numbers
Checked service SKUs: Flyin Miata/Koyo-style NA stock replacement 09-17010 for 1990-1997 and NB stock replacement 09-17200 for 1999-2005. Mazda BPE8-15-200 remains an OEM NA reference. Automatic-transmission cooler provisions and performance-radiator compatibility must be verified.Supersession
Generation-specific service paths, not one universal supersession. NA and NB stock replacements are separate. The checked crossflow fits 1990-2005 with generation-specific mounts but has no automatic-transmission cooler.

Aftermarket options
Checked NA stock replacement $149 and NB stock replacement $129, both plastic-end-tank Koyo-style service radiators with active carts. Checked $499 crossflow performance radiator was sold out with more expected around December 1, 2026. Crossflow requires NB upper mounts and may require fan brackets/hose changes; it does not support an automatic without a separate transmission cooler.
Before you buy
Split NA from NB and confirm automatic-transmission cooler needs. Green/brown plastic tanks, seepage or cracking are replacement warnings. The checked crossflow was sold out and has no automatic cooler; NB mounts, fan brackets and hose configuration may differ.
