First-Generation FR-S/BRZ/86 Separate Rear Cushions and Bench Backrest Identification

US-market first-generation 2013-2020 Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 factory rear seating only: separate LH and RH lower cushion pieces plus one bench-type folding backrest. Prove recipient and donor VIN/build, badge, production, trim/upholstery/color, frame/pads/covers, hinge/lock/striker state, release hardware and written contents. Exclude front seats, 2022-up GR86/BRZ, non-US/RHD assumptions, restraint-anchor substitution and crash, fire, flood or contaminated donors.

What you need to know

Begin with both VINs, builds, badge and trim/color. Verify the donor actually has two separate lower cushion assemblies and one bench-type folding backrest; do not shop for a nonexistent split backrest pair or assume separate rear head restraints. Photograph the backrest frame, pad and cover; both lower pads/covers; every hinge, lock, striker, release wire/knob, bracket, mounting tab and label. Require a written inventory and confirm each latch holds/releases correctly and each hinge/frame is straight. Seat belts, buckles, LATCH/ISOFIX lower anchors, top-tether/body anchor brackets and their hardware are separate safety equipment and must not be substituted, omitted or inferred. Reject crash-loaded, bent, twisted, welded or torn frames/mounts; failed or damaged locks/strikers; cut covers; corrosion; water/flood/fire; mold, odor, pests, biohazard or unknown repairs. Use current Subaru/Toyota procedures and qualified inspection around nearby SRS/curtain-sensor trim; no restraint modification or bypass.

Supersession

No complete FR-S/BRZ/Toyota 86 rear-seat cross-badge supersession is asserted. The checked BRZ catalog replaces LH/RH locks 64383CA000/010 with 64383CA001/011 at the May/June 2015 production split. The Toyota-family catalog replaces SU003-01866/01867 with SU003-06114/06115. Stable frame and pad identities do not supersede or collapse the many badge-, grade-, color- and production-specific cover branches. Current VIN catalog controls.

Fitment

Aftermarket options

Prefer exact genuine frame/pad/latch components or a fully documented used factory rear-seat set selected by VIN/build/badge/trim. Upholstery retrim is cosmetic only after the original frame, latch, hinge, cushion contour and every restraint-anchor interface pass inspection. Rear-seat deletes, panels, cargo shelves, universal cushions and any seat-belt/LATCH/top-tether alteration are outside this identification claim.

Before you buy

This rear seat uses two separate lower cushion pieces and one bench-type folding backrest, not a split backrest pair. Match both VINs/builds, badge, trim/color, frame/pads/covers, both hinges/locks/strikers and written contents. Never infer seat belts, LATCH/ISOFIX or top-tether body anchors from upholstery. Reject crash-loaded, bent, torn, failed-latch, corroded, flooded, burned, moldy or contaminated donors; qualified restraint-area inspection is required.
