First-Generation FR-S, BRZ and 86 Rear Bumper Covers: Badge, Facelift and 2019 BRZ Identification
US-market first-generation FA20 coupes only: 2013-2016 Scion FR-S, 2017-2020 Toyota 86 and 2013-2020 Subaru BRZ. This guide identifies the factory rear bumper face, badge/model-year branch, related retainers and caps, the 2019 BRZ production change, the separate center backup lamp and the optional Subaru rear under-diffuser accessory. Global-market Toyota GT86/JDM variants, 2022-up GR86 and second-generation BRZ, sensor-cut covers, collision beams and absorbers, and aftermarket/TRD/STI body kits are excluded unless an exact VIN-specific catalog says otherwise.

Start with the VIN, US badge and model year, then inspect the molded face and its attachment parts. Use SU003-01494 only for the checked 2013-2016 Scion FR-S branch and SU003-06836 only for the checked 2017-2020 Toyota 86 branch; Toyota documented a new, more sculpted 2017 rear bumper with an integrated aerodynamic diffuser. Keep both Toyota branches separate even when a seller says FR-S/BRZ/86. For BRZ, 57704CA010 is the original 2013-2018 face and 57704CA011 is the 2019-production design/service replacement; fitting 57704CA011 to an earlier BRZ requires the Subaru bulletin's mudguard and arch-cap work. A bare face is paint-required/unpainted and normally does not prove inclusion of retainers, tow-eye caps, inner mudguards, beam, absorber, center backup lamp, wiring, emblems or an accessory diffuser. The visible center triangle is a backup-lamp assembly, often misnamed reflector, rear fog or third brake light in listings. E5610CA000 is an add-on BRZ rear under diffuser, not the molded lower section of every factory bumper. Rear Scion, Toyota and Subaru deck-lid badges can be changed and are not interchange evidence.

Supported Subaru service chain: 57704CA010 -> 57704CA011. This is not presented as unchanged plug-and-play interchange: Subaru bulletin 12-250-18 says 57704CA011 and corresponding inner mudguards began with 2019MY and requires specified trimming of earlier 2013-2018 BRZ inner mudguards plus 57756CA020NN arch caps when the new face is installed. Supported retainer chains are SU003-01503 -> SU003-08223 RH, SU003-01504 -> SU003-08224 LH, 57707CA100 -> 57707CA101 RH, 57707CA110 -> 57707CA111 LH and 57707FJ190 / 57707FJ200 -> 57707FJ201 lower. SU003-01494 and SU003-06836 are separate Scion FR-S and Toyota 86 face identities, not a claimed supersession or cross-badge interchange.
Fitment
Start with the VIN, US badge and model year, then inspect the molded face and its attachment parts. Aftermarket options
Checked replacement paths include bare genuine faces, professionally paint-matched genuine faces, used take-off faces and repair-industry replacement covers. None is treated as one universal FR-S/BRZ/86 shell. Order by exact factory face identity and inspect mounting tabs, wheel-arch holes, exhaust openings, lower molded shape and whether repairers folded or heat-formed the cover for freight. E5610CA000 and aftermarket diffuser/underskirt products are separate overlays; they do not turn the wrong badge/year face into a verified fit. Parking-sensor cuts and special aero attachments remain outside this guide.
Before you buy
US first-generation coupes only. Match VIN, badge and model year before paint: SU003-01494 is the checked 2013-2016 Scion FR-S face, SU003-06836 the checked 2017-2020 Toyota 86 face, 57704CA010 the original 2013-2018 BRZ face and 57704CA011 the 2019-production BRZ design/service replacement. Subaru's earlier-BRZ retrofit requires its mudguard trimming and arch-cap procedure; do not hide gaps with adhesive or omit required caps. No cross-badge or Toyota pre-/post-facelift interchange is promised. The center triangle is a separate backup lamp, not proof of cover fitment, and E5610CA000 is an optional BRZ under-diffuser accessory. Verify every retainer, cap, mudguard, tab, beam/absorber and lamp actually included before paint. Follow current collision-repair information and use trained body/paint help where needed.
