E46 M3 Heater Valve, Auxiliary Water Pump, Heater Core and Hose Diagnosis
US/LHD 2001-2006 E46 M3 only: BL93 Coupe and BR93 Convertible, S54B32, six-speed manual or SMG II, with factory automatic climate control. The checked BMW catalogs retain the same heater-circuit identities across the model-year range and label transmission fitment neutral. Exclude every non-M E46, E36, M3 CSL, E83/X3, Z3 M, RHD/non-US car, manual-climate conversion, engine swap and S54 conversion.

Confirm a US/LHD E46 M3 Coupe or Convertible, S54, model year and factory automatic climate equipment by VIN before ordering. First separate airflow from coolant-flow complaints: no airflow, erratic fan speed or blower current belongs to the blower/final-stage diagnosis, while refrigerant pressure, compressor and evaporator work belongs to the A/C circuit. With airflow present, inspect coolant level, residues and external leaks only when cold; confirm the S54 reaches proper operating temperature; follow BMW's S54 filling/venting procedure; scan IHKA faults and test commanded valve/pump operation, wiring and connectors; then compare inlet, core and return flow before condemning the core. Coolant odor, film/fogging or cabin moisture calls for a cold pressure test and inspection of the core, double pipe, gasket rings and hose joints. No-heat at idle, full-time heat or cabin coolant does not by itself identify one failed component. Verify every port, connector, hose shape, installed number and included seal or clamp.
OEM numbers
BMW 64118369807 is the integrated water valve with additional water pump used by the checked US E46 M3 Coupe and Convertible catalogsit is one serviced assembly, not two separately interchangeable M3 parts. Heater core 64118372783 uses aluminium double pipe 64118372784, two D=17.12 mm gasket rings 64118377824 and grommet 64118368531. The three checked M3 heater-circuit hoses are 64216902678 engine inlet to water valve, 64216902679 water valve to heater radiator/core and 64216902680 heater radiator/core to engine return. Checked clamps are 64218367179 quantity two, 64218386477, 64216911339 and inlet clamp 64212229718. Checked aftermarket references include Vemo V20-77-0053 for the 64118369807 identity and Behr Hella AH 87 000P351311331 for heater core 64118372783.Supersession
No supersession is asserted for the checked E46 M3 valve/pump, heater core or three hose identities. BMW 64118369805 is a valve-only identity seen on non-M/other applications and 64118369806 is a separate additional-pump identity; neither is a documented predecessor, successor or substitute for integrated M3 assembly 64118369807. Behr Hella and Vemo numbers are manufacturer cross-references, not BMW supersessions.
Fitment

Aftermarket options
Checked choices include Genuine BMW 64118369807, Vemo V20-77-0053 cross-referenced to that integrated assembly, Genuine BMW or Behr Hella AH 87 000P heater core 64118372783, Genuine BMW heater hoses and used OE valve/pump assemblies. Require an explicit E46 M3/S54 application, exact 64118369807 identity, both electrical functions, correct port orientation, connector condition and test or return terms. Do not buy a generic non-M 64118369805 valve, standalone 64118369806 pump or broad E46 listing as an M3 substitute. A used heater core is poor evidence for leak-free service and is not recommended merely because it is inexpensive.
Before you buy
US/LHD 2001-2006 E46 M3 Coupe and Convertible with S54 and factory automatic climate control only. BMW 64118369807 is an integrated water-valve/additional-pump assembly; do not substitute non-M valve 64118369805 or standalone pump 64118369806. Confirm VIN, installed number, ports, connectors, heater-core pipe/seals and exact hose positions. No airflow belongs to blower/final-stage diagnosis; refrigerant, compressor and air-door work are separate. A cold cabin can also result from low coolant, trapped air, engine-temperature or main-pump problems, control faults or core restriction. Never open a hot cooling system: BMW warns of scalding and requires cooled-system service, correct S54 filling/venting and leak checking. Stop and diagnose coolant loss or overheating rather than treating it as a comfort-only fault. Seller prices, stock and delivery are dated observations.
