What you need to know

Use commanded door position, airflow/temperature symptom and physical location to identify the failed actuator. Inspect the door/case for binding before replacing a motor; a clicking actuator does not prove every door motor should be changed.

OEM numbers

Examples include early Dorman 604-231/604-233 applications and later Ford AR3Z-19E616-E family. These are not universal numbersidentify the temperature, inlet, main, floor or defrost door and HVAC equipment.

Supersession

No universal actuator chain is asserted. Catalogs show multiple visually similar motors by door function, climate-control type and production period.

Fitment

Use commanded door position, airflow/temperature symptom and physical location to identify the failed actuator. Inspect the door/case for binding before replacing a motor; a clicking actuator does not prove every door motor should be changed.

Aftermarket options

Genuine Ford, Dorman and other exact-door replacements exist. Match door function and year/equipment; seller use of “blend door” as a broad label can hide meaningful differences.

Before you buy

Identify the exact door, location, production period and climate-control equipment. Similar-looking actuators are not automatically interchangeable. Inspect for a binding or broken HVAC door before replacing the motor.
