2005-2009 Mustang Factory Rear Fascias: V6, GT, GT/CS, GT500 and Supports

US/LHD 2005-2009 Ford Mustang factory rear fascia applications only. Resolve the recipient VIN, model year, build date, original trim and appearance package, installed cover identity, exhaust outlets and Coupe or Convertible body before ordering. Proven cover branches are Base/V6 and standard GT for 2005-2009, plus the checked 2007-2009 GT California Special/Shelby GT appearance branch and the distinct 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 branch. The checked Ford mounting-bracket catalog lists Coupe and Convertible together rather than creating separate cover or bracket identities; adjacent rear body, floor and quarter structure can still differ and is outside this guide. Exclude 2010-up body shapes, non-US/RHD assumptions, Bullitt or other special-edition identity unless the VIN and installed Ford number resolve it, GT500/GT/CS appearance conversions on another trim, Saleen/Roush/aftermarket fascias, fabricated diffuser or exhaust conversions and unmeasured structural collision repair.

What you need to know

Begin with the recipient VIN, build date, Base/V6 versus standard GT versus GT California Special/Shelby GT versus Shelby GT500 identity, Coupe or Convertible body, original rear appearance, exhaust outlet count/location, side-marker openings, license recess and paint code. The checked catalog makes the cover branch trim/appearance driven; the shared Coupe/Convertible bracket listing does not authorize interchange of rear body structure. A primed or painted cover is not a complete bumper. Require an itemized list for both powered side-marker lamps and bulbs/connectors, license lamp and wiring, left/right isolators, side and upper brackets, lower/chassis brackets, upper cover, fillers/seals, clips/rivets/screws/nuts, structural impact bar, exhaust shields or splash pieces and paint. The queue's generic reflector wording was narrowed: checked factory pieces at the cover sides are powered marker-lamp assemblies, not passive reflectors. No checked factory parking-sensor branch was established for this 2005-2009 scope; drilled sensor holes or added harnesses are modifications, not factory fitment proof. Inspect used urethane for torn or stretched tabs, cracks, heat distortion, folded storage, filler or plastic welding, overspray, marker/license damage, paint mismatch and prior impact. Inspect isolators and brackets for compression, cracks, elongation and missing hardware. A straight-looking cover does not prove the steel bar, rear rails, trunk floor, rear body panel or quarter mounting points are undamaged. Use current Ford collision procedures and qualified measurement/repair before installation; verify cover retention, marker and license illumination, exhaust clearance and all rear lighting before driving.

The structural steel rear impact bar is referenced to existing catalog ownership rather than claimed as a new identity here.

Supersession

The checked Ford material supports parallel factory appearance families, not a universal supersession chain. Collision program suffixes 5R3Z-17K835-AAACP and 5R3Z-17K835-BAACP accompany the Base/V6 and standard GT service families; they are not evidence that the Base and GT covers interchange. Likewise 7R3Z-17K835-AAPTM and 7R3Z-17K835-BAPTM remain separate GT California Special/Shelby GT and Shelby GT500 appearance branches. Ford catalog and seller metadata conflict in places: one year diagram carries broad production metadata for the standard GT cover, and one seller collapses several special trims into the GT500 fit list. The Ford collision program's 2005-2009 range, exact factory appearance descriptions, recipient VIN and installed identity control. No arrow is asserted among Base/V6, standard GT, GT/CS and Shelby GT or GT500 covers, and common brackets or the separately owned shared impact bar do not prove cover interchange.

Fitment

Begin with the recipient VIN, build date, Base/V6 versus standard GT versus GT California Special/Shelby GT versus Shelby GT500 identity, Coupe or Convertible body, original rear appearance, exhaust outlet count/location, side-marker openings, license recess and paint code. The checked catalog makes the cover branch trim/appearance driven; the shared Coupe/Convertible bracket listing does not authorize interchange of rear body structure. Aftermarket options

Checked aftermarket paths include primed Base/V6, standard GT and GT California Special style covers, painted-to-code service, replacement isolators and reproduction marker/license pieces. PartsLink, CAPA or seller OE replacement wording is a purchasing lead, not Ford supersession evidence. Require exact factory recipient trim, exhaust and marker/license openings, material, thickness, mounting-tab geometry, included brackets/hardware/lamps, certification documentation where claimed, folding/heat-restoration instructions, paint preparation, freight packaging and return terms. A seller's statement that a GT cover can be installed during a V6 dual-exhaust conversion is an appearance-conversion claim and is excluded from the core factory-replacement fitment. Do not promote universal diffusers, drilled sensor holes, imitation GT500 identity or any cover that obscures its actual photographed condition and contents.

Before you buy

US/LHD 2005-2009 factory rear fascia only. Match VIN, factory trim/appearance, Coupe or Convertible, exhaust outlets, installed identity and paint. Base/V6, standard GT, GT/CS-Shelby GT and GT500 covers are distinct families; common brackets do not make the covers interchangeable. The cover-side factory pieces are powered marker lamps, not passive reflectors, and the bare cover omits lamps, license equipment, isolators, brackets, upper cover, seals, hardware, impact bar and paint unless itemized. Inspect tabs, distortion, repairs and freight damage, and measure rear structure after any collision.
