1999-2004 Standard NB Miata Instrument Clusters: Year, Transmission, Circuit and Lawful Odometer Handling

US/LHD 1999-2004 naturally aspirated NB Mazda MX-5 Miata with the factory mph instrument cluster. The 1999-2000 5-speed/manual and automatic catalog branch, the separate 1999-2000 6-speed branch, and the later 2001-2004 component-serviced branches are covered only when model year, transmission, installed component numbers, face/window content, connector housings and printed circuit agree. Exclude 2004 Mazdaspeed/turbo clusters and NE01 components, every 2005 application until authoritative Mazda component evidence is added, 1990-1997 NA, 2006-up NC, non-US km/h or RHD/JDM clusters, custom/aftermarket gauge conversions, and any fitment or mileage claim based only on a broad seller title.

The checked 1999-2000 catalog deliberately shares NC10 meter/speedometer identities between 5-speed and automatic cars but separates the 6-speed NC65 branch; do not invent a separate 5-speed-versus-automatic assembly number, and do not infer interchange from that shared number without matching every physical and electrical detail. For 2001-2004 donors, compare the exact component family, terminal layout, warning lamps and optional-equipment content; a broad '01-05' seller listing is not fitment proof and does not extend this guide into 2005. OEM numbers

The checked Mazda collision catalog identifies 1999-2000 meter assembly NC10-55-430 for 5-speed/manual and automatic cars and the separate NC65-55-430 for 6-speed cars. It also identifies 1999-2000 window plate NC10-55-446 and speedometer NC10-55-471 for the 5-speed/automatic branch, and window plate NC65-55-446 plus speedometer NC65-55-471 for the 6-speed branch. Later service identities include speedometer NC72-55-471 for 2001-2002 and standard/non-turbo ND30-55-471 for 2003-2004NE01-55-471 is the excluded turbo branch. Checked printed-circuit identities are NC10-55-442 for 1999-2000, NC11-55-442 for 2001-2002 and ND30-55-442 for 2003-2004. The 2001-2004 collision catalog services the assembly by component, so these component numbers do not establish a universal complete 2001-2004 cluster number. A seller's NC10-55-430A label is not adopted as an authoritative Mazda catalog identity, and seller cataloging is not used to extend fitment into 2005.

Supersession

No universal whole-cluster supersession chain is asserted. NC10-55-430 and NC65-55-430 are separate 1999-2000 transmission branches, not a supersession. NC10-55-471, NC72-55-471 and ND30-55-471 are year/component branches, not proof that complete donor assemblies interchange.
