US NA and NB Miata Trunk-Carpet, Side-Trim and Spare/Battery-Cover Identification

US 1990-1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata NA and 1999-2005 NB factory luggage-compartment carpet, latch/end trim, side trim, spare-tire, battery and tool-floor covers only, narrowed by generation, production, battery/spare/tool/audio layout, physical section, color and exact fasteners. Prove both VINs/builds, NA or NB generation, production, equipment, molded identity, section count, backing, condition and written contents. Exclude 1998, NC/ND, trunk lids, passenger-compartment carpet, RHD assumptions and cut, wet, moldy, burned, pest-, smoke-, flood- or biohazard-contaminated donors.

What you need to know

Record both VINs/builds, NA or NB generation, production and battery/spare/tool/audio layout. Photograph each identity, full top/back, every edge/cutout, backing and fastener point. Lay out and label every floor, side, latch/end, battery, spare and tool piece. Reject missing sections, home-cut openings, frayed edges, crushed or separated backing, water rings, flood residue, mold, odor, pests, smoke, fire, chemicals or biohazard. Correct trunk and taillamp leaks before installation.

OEM numbers

CHECKED GENERATION/SECTION EXAMPLES, NOT ONE NA/NB TRUNK SET. NA examples include floor mat NA01-68-811A-04, latch/end trim NA01-68-891A-04, battery cover NA01-68-819 and spare cover NA01-68-8P9A. NB examples include right/left side trim NC10-68-851-04 and NC10-68-871-04, rear panel trim N066-68-891-04, floor mat NC10-68-81XA-04 and tool/spare cover NC10-68-8E0A. Clips, boards, tools and hardware remain separate unless itemized.

Supersession

No NA-to-NB, battery-to-spare, left-to-right or floor-to-side supersession is asserted. Checked catalogs and seller paths preserve generation and physical-section identities. Similar carpet color or a generic 1990-2005 label does not prove backing, opening, audio, battery, spare/tool or complete-set interchange.

Fitment

Record both VINs/builds, NA or NB generation, production and battery/spare/tool/audio layout. Photograph each identity, full top/back, every edge/cutout, backing and fastener point. Lay out and label every floor, side, latch/end, battery, spare and tool piece. Reject missing sections, home-cut openings, frayed edges, crushed or separated backing, water rings, flood residue, mold, odor, pests, smoke, fire, chemicals or biohazard. Correct trunk and taillamp leaks before installation.

Aftermarket options

Generation- and equipment-specific replacement cargo carpet may be usable when backing, cutouts and written kit contents are explicit. Universal carpet, flat yardage and passenger-compartment carpet are not factory luggage-trim equivalents. New material is preferred when donor moisture or contamination history cannot be proven.

Before you buy

Match both VINs/builds, NA versus NB, production, battery/spare/tool/audio layout, exact section and backing. Require top/back/edge photos and a written piece count; reject cut, wet, moldy, burned, pest-, smoke-, flood- or biohazard-contaminated trim.
