Treat the under-dash system as three adjacent modules: blower, evaporator/cooling unit and heater/air-mix unit. Start with recipient VIN/generation, production and factory-A/C status; then compare the installed label or molded case identity, firewall tube and drain locations, duct joints, mounting tabs, blower connector/resistor interface, temperature and mode doors/linkages/cables, core or evaporator size, expansion valve and every bracket, clamp, seal and fastener. Seller words complete box are not an inventory: require written confirmation of heater core, evaporator core, expansion valve, blower motor/fan, resistor, thermostat/sensor, doors/linkages/cables, drain tube, ducts, wiring and hardware. Reject cracked or warped cases, broken tabs, seized doors, stripped cable mounts, coolant or refrigerant-oil residue, corrosion, fire/flood exposure, rodent nesting, mold, heavy debris, odor, cut harnesses, kinked tubes or unknown disinfectant/coating. Aftermarket options
Aftermarket evaporator and heater cores are component-level alternatives only; they do not establish whole-case interchange or include housings, doors, cables, valves, blower parts, ducts or seals. A verified new OEM module where available, a clean exact-identity donor housing rebuilt with independently verified cores/seals, or professional repair of the original case is the bounded path.
