US/LHD NA/NB Miata Dashboard and Instrument-Panel Shell, Carrier and Loaded-Contents Identification

US-market left-hand-drive 1990-1997 NA and 1999-2005 NB Miata factory dashboard/instrument-panel shell and carrier identification only. Split 1990-1993 NA, 1994-1997 NA passenger-airbag-era and NB year/color/SRS branches. Prove recipient and donor VIN/build, LHD, shell/carrier identities, color, SRS configuration, visible VIN-plate handling, mounts and written contents. Exclude RHD, NA/NB interchange assumptions, altered identity, modified/race/flocked/cut panels, crash-loaded structures, deployed/missing SRS and contaminated donors.

What you need to know

Begin with recipient and donor VIN/build, US/LHD configuration, exact shell and carrier labels, color and SRS configuration. Photograph the complete front/back of the molded panel, cross-car support, every mounting boss/stud/bracket, crash pad, ducts/vents/defrost pieces, glovebox, lower/knee/column panels, center bezel, meter hood, cluster, wiring/fusebox, switches and labels; require a written included/excluded inventory. Instrument clusters/odometers remain under MIA-0051, and HVAC modules/controls remain under MIA-0065 even when a seller leaves them attached. The passenger airbag is separate safety equipment and is never an assumed loaded-dash inclusion. Do not transfer, alter or misrepresent the visible VIN tag/plate; vehicle identity remains recipient-specific and must follow applicable law and qualified procedures. Reject cracks, UV distortion/warping, broken bosses, cut radio/gauge openings, drilled/flocked/race panels, bent/welded/crash-loaded supports, deployed or missing SRS, corrosion, fire/flood/water, mold, odor, pests, biohazard or undocumented repair. Use current Mazda procedures and qualified SRS service; no airbag, warning-light, restraint or identity bypass.

Supersession

No NA-to-NB or universal loaded-dashboard supersession is asserted. Current seller catalogs describe later NB NC10-60-401D-02 as replacing NC10-60-401C-02 and earlier forms, and D-21 as replacing C-21/earlier forms; those are seller service paths for bare panels, not proof that color, carrier, pad, ducts, trim, electrical contents or SRS components interchange. The checked Mazda collision data separately branches early/later shells and supports. Current VIN catalog controls every suffix and service replacement.

Fitment

Begin with recipient and donor VIN/build, US/LHD configuration, exact shell and carrier labels, color and SRS configuration. Photograph the complete front/back of the molded panel, cross-car support, every mounting boss/stud/bracket, crash pad, ducts/vents/defrost pieces, glovebox, lower/knee/column panels, center bezel, meter hood, cluster, wiring/fusebox, switches and labels; require a written included/excluded inventory. Use current Mazda procedures and qualified SRS service; no airbag, warning-light, restraint or identity bypass.

Aftermarket options

Prefer an exact genuine shell/carrier or a fully documented unmodified factory donor selected by both VINs/builds, LHD, color and SRS configuration. Professional cosmetic restoration may be considered only after structural mounts, identity treatment and SRS interfaces pass qualified inspection. Flocked, race-cut, drilled, gauge-podded, repaired-crash, RHD-conversion and universal panels are outside this factory-identification claim; never modify or bypass airbags, warning circuits or vehicle identity.

Before you buy

Split US/LHD NA 1990-1993, NA 1994-1997 and NB year/color/SRS branches; never assume NA/NB interchange. Match both VINs/builds, exact shell/carrier, color, SRS and written contents. Clusters, HVAC and passenger airbags remain separate. Reject cracked, warped, cut, drilled, crash-loaded, deployed-SRS, flooded, burned, moldy or contaminated donors. Never transfer or misrepresent vehicle identity or bypass SRS; qualified service is required.
