What you need to know

Diagnose leak location before ordering. A rear rain rail directs water to drains; a header seal addresses the windshield edge; latches clamp the top. Check top fabric, drains, set plates, cables and frame alignment. Late latch stud shapes and model-year splits matter. Many replacement tops do not include a rain rail.

OEM numbers

Rear rain rail/drip rail service family includes Mazda NA01-R1-560E catalog references and aftermarket 1990-2005 railsdo not infer one OEM number fits every NA/NB VIN. Late NA/early NB latches: right NA01-R1-310L and left NA01-R1-320L through 11/20022004 catalog uses M-suffix latches. NB header weatherstrip NC10-R1-711D. These are separate leak paths.

Supersession

No universal leak-fix supersession. Rain rail, top latches and header weatherstrip are distinct parts. Prior broad rain-rail chain is retained only as catalog history and is not used to claim every-year OEM interchange.

Fitment

Diagnose leak location before ordering. A rear rain rail directs water to drains; a header seal addresses the windshield edge; latches clamp the top. Check top fabric, drains, set plates, cables and frame alignment. Late latch stud shapes and model-year splits matter. Many replacement tops do not include a rain rail.

Aftermarket options

Checked Robbins/Moss and AutoTopsDirect 1990-2005 rain rails, genuine late-NA/early-NB latches and NB header-seal market paths. Used rail sealing material is not recommended; used metal plates/latches can be considered after inspection.

Before you buy

Diagnose the leak location first. Rear rain rail/drains, front latches and NB header weatherstrip are separate systems; no one part is a universal leak fix. Confirm model year, side, latch suffix and whether a replacement top includes a rain rail.
