Non-M E46 Six-Cylinder Oil Pan, Pickup and RWD-versus-xi Package Identification
US/LHD non-M E46 six-cylinder applications only, with VIN, build date, body, engine/emissions label and RWD versus xi resolved before ordering. Checked M52TU RWD scope includes 1999-2000 323i/328i Sedan, 2000 323Ci/328Ci Coupe and the checked 323i Sport Wagon branch. Checked M54 RWD scope includes 2001-2005 325i/330i Sedan, 2001-2005 325i Sport Wagon and 2001-2006 325Ci/330Ci Coupe or Convertible. Checked M54 xi scope includes 2001-2005 325xi Sedan/Sport Wagon and 330xi Sedan. Checked M56 SULEV applications span 2003-2005 325i Sedan/Sport Wagon and 2003-2006 325Ci Coupe catalog references, subject to the VIN/emissions label. Exclude E36, E46 M3/S54, four-cylinder or diesel markets, non-US/RHD assumptions, dry-sump conversions and unsupported engine or drivetrain swaps.

Start with VIN, production date, body, exact engine and emissions label, RWD versus xi, installed pan casting/number, sump shape, pickup, baffle, sensor opening and dipstick-tube identity. The xi pan has front-differential, axle and subframe clearance geometry and uses its own pickup and dipstick interfaces; do not substitute a RWD pan or pickup because a seller groups E46 six-cylinder models. Confirm whether a listing contains the bare pan, pickup and support, baffle, gasket, oil-level sensor and seal, dipstick and tube, drain plug/ring, bolts and structural or drivetrain hardware. Diagnose higher leak sources such as the oil-filter housing, CCV/dipstick return and rear-main area before condemning the pan. For used parts, inspect the sealing flange, sump and xi mounting features for impact, cracks, corrosion or distortion; inspect drain threads, sludge, metal debris and pickup strainer; and require cleaned passages, actual-item photos and return terms. Oil-level warnings remain BMW-0039's diagnostic scope. Removal can require safe support of the engine, front subframe and xi driveline components plus alignment; follow current VIN-specific BMW repair information and torque/one-time-use hardware rules rather than generic values.

These identities are representative checked US non-M six-cylinder branches, not a universal swap or complete-kit claim.Supersession
Supported checked service links are RWD oil pan 11137743012 -> 11131432703, xi oil pans 11137502663/11137511600 -> 11137519432, RWD dipstick guide 11431433496 -> 11437531258, oil deflector 11131748876 -> 11137502668 and drain plug 11131273093 -> 11137535106. The early RWD pickup 11411432726/O-ring 11411432727 and later RWD pickup 11417503258/O-ring 11417507429 are production/package branches; the checked catalog evidence warns against treating the later pipe as retrospectively interchangeable without resolving the installed assembly. The xi pickup, pan, guide tube and dipstick are separate AWD-clearance parts, not RWD supersessions. M52TU, M54 and M56 catalog coverage does not remove VIN/build/emissions verification.
Fitment
Aftermarket options
Prefer the exact new OE service pan and pickup or an exact-number used original that passes casting, geometry, thread, flange and cleanliness inspection. A reputable aftermarket pan may be considered only when its manufacturer directly supports the exact VIN/body/engine/drivetrain branch and documents xi differential/axle interfaces, sensor opening, pickup clearance, dipstick interface and drain-thread specification. Avoid universal listings, seller-only RWD/xi compatibility claims, welded or impact-repaired sumps, unidentified used assemblies and kits that omit or silently substitute the pickup, baffle, sensor seal, gasket or hardware. No dry-sump, cross-chassis or engine-swap package is validated here.
Before you buy
US/LHD non-M E46 six-cylinder applications only. Decode VIN/build/body, M52TU/M54/M56 and emissions label, and RWD versus xi before ordering. RWD and xi pans, pickups and dipstick interfaces are different; a complete listing may omit pickup, baffle, gasket, sensor/seal, dipstick/tube, drain hardware and bolts. Sensor 12617508003 and seal 12611744292 are interfaces here; warning diagnosis remains BMW-0039. Inspect used flanges, xi mounts, cracks/impact/corrosion, drain threads and internal cleanliness. Current BMW support/alignment/torque procedures control. Seller stock, compatibility and prices are dated observations.
