US E36 Rear Axle Carriers: Standard, M3 and 318ti Compact Identification

Start with recipient and donor VIN/build, US body configuration and readable carrier identity. Regular Sedan/Coupe/Convertible non-M, M3 and 318ti Compact use three distinct carrier branches; the Compact uses a different rear-suspension layout, and a shared cross-reference outside this page does not authorize a Z3 donor or its loaded contents. Match all body mounting locations and bushings, differential mount, trailing/control-arm pickups, sway-bar tabs, braces/stays, shock/spring interfaces, ABS/parking-brake routing and threaded holes. A bare carrier does not include differential, rear cover, trailing arms, control arms, hubs/bearings, half-shafts, brakes, springs, shocks, sway bar/links, braces, bushings, bolts, heat shields, parking-brake or ABS parts unless itemized.
