What you need to know

Inspect the flex disc for cracking/separation, center-bearing rubber and bearing play, driveshaft centering sleeve, U-joints/CV, transmission mounts and differential mounts. Mark driveshaft phasing before separation and preload the center support per the correct service procedure. A clunk or vibration does not identify one part by itself.

OEM numbers

Representative 78 mm flex-disc reference 26111227410 and E46/Z4 center support bearing reference 26127501257. M and other driveline applications use different discs/bearings, including 26112226527 on checked M applications. Hardware and centering sleeves vary. Treat these as fitment branches, not a universal E36/E46 pair.

Supersession

No universal chain is claimed. 26111227410 is a checked cross-reference for one common flex-disc family, while M, automatic/manual, xDrive and production-date applications differ. Select by VIN/transmission and measured flange/bolt pattern.

Fitment

Inspect the flex disc for cracking/separation, center-bearing rubber and bearing play, driveshaft centering sleeve, U-joints/CV, transmission mounts and differential mounts. Mark driveshaft phasing before separation and preload the center support per the correct service procedure. A clunk or vibration does not identify one part by itself.

Aftermarket options

Checked OE-style Meyle/SGF-type flex discs, E36 and E46 center bearings, chassis-specific overhaul kits and JXB serviceable carrier. Rigid/poly carrier upgrades add NVH and require good driveline alignment. M-car discs are not a universal upgrade for non-M cars.

Before you buy

There is no universal E36/E46 guibo-and-bearing kit. Confirm VIN, transmission, production date, flange diameter/bolt pattern and driveshaft. Preserve phasing and follow the correct center-bearing preload procedure. The OEM diagram is a model-specific example, not a universal E36/E46 part-number map. Guibo, center support, flange, and driveshaft dimensions must be matched to VIN, engine, transmission, and production date.
