2003-2008 350Z Rear Suspension Crossmembers: Bare Member, Loaded Cradle and Condition Identification

US/LHD factory 2003-2008 Nissan 350Z Coupe and 2004-2008 350Z Roadster rear suspension-member applications only. The checked current service identity covers VQ35DE and VQ35HR and does not expose a separate Coupe-versus-Roadster bare-member family. Exclude 2009 Roadster because current Nissan service-part fitment was not independently established; also exclude Infiniti G35, Nissan 370Z, non-US/RHD assumptions, fabricated drift or swap cradles, cut/welded conversions and structural-repair instructions. Treat 2007-2008 NISMO as VIN/EPC-only because the checked generic service fitment did not isolate that trim.

What you need to know

Begin with recipient and donor VINs/build dates, 350Z body, readable casting or service identity and photographs of every mounting interface. Nissan's checked catalog consolidates the bare service member across 2003-2008 Coupe/Roadster and VQ35DE/VQ35HR applications, but that does not make a loaded donor cradle body-, trim- or production-neutral: Coupe and Roadster springs and other surrounding suspension parts retain separate catalog branches, and NISMO equipment requires an exact VIN lookup. Verify the four body-mount locations and bushings, differential mounting interfaces, left/right member stays, tunnel and rear-pin stays, stabilizer brackets, control-arm/link and shock interfaces, eccentric slots and every threaded hole. A bare service member does not imply differential, axles, hubs/knuckles, arms, radius rods, front or rear lower links, springs, shocks, sway bar/clamps/end links, brakes, parking-brake cables, wheel sensors/harnesses, propeller shaft, exhaust, braces, stays, eccentrics or fasteners. Nissan's service procedure can lower the member with several suspension parts as a unit; that removal method does not define seller contents. Reject deformation, cracks, torn or elongated holes, bent ears, severe corrosion or oxidation, impact marks, heat, grinding, filler, non-factory welds or evidence of straightening. If collision damage is suspected, measure the recipient body and donor member using qualified body/alignment equipment rather than expecting a replacement member to correct displaced body structure. Follow the exact Nissan service procedure, support the assembly with appropriate lifting equipment, replace designated non-reusable hardware, complete rubber-bushing final tightening under the specified unladen condition and perform four-wheel alignment. Never work beneath a vehicle or assembly supported only by a jack.

OEM numbers

Complete rear suspension-member service family, not a promise of loaded-cradle contents: early 2003 Coupe catalog identity 55400-CD010 has a MultiSupersession result and requires VIN resolutionlegacy 55400-CD011, 55400-CD020 and 55400-CD021 resolve to consolidated service member 55400-CD02A. The checked current fitment for 55400-CD02A is 2003-2008 350Z with VQ35DE or VQ35HR. Separately cataloged member stays are RH/passenger 55451-CD001 and LH/driver 55452-CD001. Separate differential-mounting bolt 55424-AG000 resolves to 55424-AG00A. Differential insulators and the member-contained rear differential bushing remain owned by Z33-0010 and are not reclassified as complete-member numbers.

Supersession

Verified complete-member consolidation: 55400-CD011, 55400-CD020 and 55400-CD021 -> 55400-CD02A. Do not append 55400-CD010 to that chain: the checked catalog reports only MultiSupersession and does not expose one safe successor. Differential-mounting bolt 55424-AG000 -> 55424-AG00A is a separate hardware chain, not a subframe supersession. RH 55451-CD001 and LH 55452-CD001 are separate stays, not included-member supersessions.

Aftermarket options

Checked purchase paths are new OEM service/legacy members and used OEM bare or seller-loaded cradles. No fabricated aftermarket complete cradle was accepted as an OE-equivalent replacement. Aftermarket polyurethane, solid or offset member/differential bushings are separate modification paths with installation, noise/vibration/harshness, geometry and compatibility tradeoffs; they do not prove that a cracked or bent member is reusable and must not be conflated with the OEM-height differential-bushing page.

Before you buy

US/LHD 2003-2008 350Z Coupe and 2004-2008 Roadster only; confirm both VINs, build dates and exact installed/donor member identity. The consolidated bare member may be shared while springs, shocks, braces and loaded-cradle contents differ. The early 55400-CD010 MultiSupersession branch, 2009 Roadster, NISMO and G35 donors remain VIN/EPC-only or excluded. Require actual-piece photographs and itemized contents. Reject cracks, deformation, torn or elongated mounts, severe corrosion, heat, welds or straightening. A used member cannot correct damaged body mounting structure. Differential, arms, links, axles, hubs, brakes, sway hardware, stays, sensors and fasteners are not assumed included. Use qualified lifting, Nissan procedures, required replacement hardware and a final four-wheel alignment.
