350Z Front Wiper Motor, Linkage, Arms and Cowl Inspection

US/LHD 2003-2008 Nissan 350Z; Coupe 2003-2008 and Roadster 2004-2008, front wiper system only. Select the drive assembly, linkage and motor by the 08/2005 production split. The 2009 Roadster and every Infiniti G35 application are excluded.

What you need to know

Front only. Verify VIN, build date and installed number at the 08/2005 split. Park the motor and preserve arm-to-shaft position before removal. Diagnose switch, BCM, IPDM, harness, motor, pivots and linkage separately. Inspect linkage joints, splines, cowl covers, clips, washer hose, seal and moisture while open. Cowl-seal replacement is not proof of a cabin-water cause or cure.

OEM numbers

Early through 08/2005: complete drive assembly 28800-CD000, replacing motor service number 28815-CD000linkage 28840-CD000. Late from 08/2005: complete drive assembly 28800-CF40Alinkage 28840-CF40Amotor 28815-AC500. Connecting links: No. 1 28841-CD000 and No. 2 28842-CD000. LHD arms: LH/driver 28881-CD006 and RH/passenger 28886-CD005. Cowl-top cover seal 66870-AL500, quantity two.

Supersession

28815-CD000 -> 28800-CD000. 28881-CD000 and 28881-CD005 -> 28881-CD006. 28886-CD000 -> 28886-CD005. Do not claim 28800-CD000 -> 28800-CF40A; they are production-date branches. No G35 interchange is claimed.

Aftermarket options

Cardone Reman 43-4340 is the checked early motor-only path and 43-4518 is the checked late motor-only path; neither includes the washer pump or linkage. Exact-number used OEM drive assemblies, linkages and arms also exist. Confirm connector, park function, pivot freedom, arm splines, included parts, return terms and any core charge.

Before you buy

350Z front system only; no G35 interchange. Verify VIN/build date/installed number at the 08/2005 split and confirm whether a listing is motor-only, linkage-only or complete. Cowl inspection does not establish the source or cure of a cabin leak. Wipers are visibility-critical; do not drive in conditions that require them while they are inoperative.
