2003-2008 350Z Factory Aluminum Hood: 11/2006 Production Split, Hinges, Lock, Seals and Washer Equipment

US/LHD 2003-2008 Nissan 350Z Coupe and 2004-2008 Roadster factory hood applications only, separated by exact VIN, body, production date and installed hood/hinge/lock identity. The checked Nissan catalog changes the hood family at 11/2006, inside the 2007 model year: use the recipient build date rather than DE, RevUp, HR or model-year shorthand alone. Exclude the 2009 Roadster, G35, 370Z, non-US/RHD applications, aftermarket carbon or fiberglass panels, unsupported appearance conversions, and cars with unmeasured collision damage at the hinge, latch, upper tie-bar or adjacent structure.

What you need to know

Start with the recipient VIN, US Coupe/Roadster body, production month, current hood profile, installed labels or stamped identities where readable, and photos of both hinge and latch interfaces. Nissan's checked catalog places the exterior hood-family break at 11/2006; a seller's 2006-2008, DE, RevUp, HR, flat or power-bulge wording is only a lead. Resolve the exact catalog branch before buying. Itemize whether the listing includes the bare aluminum hood shell, LH/RH hinges, hinge bolts, striker/lock and cable, prop rod/clamp/grommet, front/rear seals and bumpers, washer nozzles/hoses/retainers, insulation or trim, emblems and hardware; none is assumed from the word complete. The checked hood diagrams do not expose a separate hood-insulator pad, and washer equipment is in a separate catalog group. For used aluminum panels inspect the outer skin and inner frame for dents, sharp creases, oxidation/corrosion, seam or adhesive disturbance, cracked or elongated mounting holes, prior filler or weld work, mismatched paint, bent hinges and latch wear; require packaging and freight-damage terms before shipment. Collision damage at the hinge, latch or upper structure must be measured and repaired by a qualified body professional before alignment. Nissan service material calls for two workers because the hood is heavy, protection/anticorrosive treatment at hinge mounting surfaces, controlled hinge/latch alignment, lock-cable inspection and verification that both the primary and secondary latches operate correctly. Do not drive until closure, release and secondary-latch retention are proven.

These are catalog verification identities, not one interchangeable kit. The checked hood-panel diagrams do not identify a separate factory hood-insulation pad, so do not substitute the cowl insulator or assume a pad belongs with a bare hood.

Supersession

Explicit checked service relationships retained are 65100-CD030 -> F5100-CD0MM; F510M-CF4MA -> FEA0M-CF4MA; 65401-CD700 and 65401-CD00A -> 65401-CD70A; 65400-CD700 and 65400-CD00A -> 65400-CD70A; 65401-AL500 -> 65401-AL50A; 65400-AL500 -> 65400-AL50A; 65722-CD000 -> 65722-JN20A; 65822-01M00 -> 90878-2L700; and 28935-CD000 -> B7461-89910. The early F5100-CD0MM family runs through the checked 11/2006 production break; the late F510M-CF4MA/FEA0M-CF4MA family starts at that break. The checked lock and cable identities likewise change from 65601-CD000/65620-CD000 to 65601-CF00A/65620-CF00A at 11/2006, but no supersession or cross-fit arrow is asserted from that production branching alone. No early-to-late hood, DE-to-HR, Coupe-to-Roadster, hinge-family or appearance-conversion interchange is asserted.

Aftermarket options

A checked Extreme Dimensions path offered an aftermarket carbon-fiber hood for 2003-2006 and required hood pins. It is a separate modified-part path, not an OEM substitute or proof that factory early and late panels interchange. Carbon/fiberglass parts can change latch, pin, washer, seal, finish, gap, heat and installation requirements; obtain written application, material, contents, road-use, warranty, freight and professional-installation terms. Used original aluminum panels remain useful only with exact production/body identity, straight inner-frame and mounting evidence, complete photos and a workable return/freight-damage policy. No universal hood, NISMO-style conversion or G35/370Z cross-fit is recommended.

Before you buy

US/LHD 2003-2008 Coupe and 2004-2008 Roadster only. Nissan's catalog changes the factory hood family at 11/2006; use the VIN/build date and exact catalog identity, not DE/RevUp/HR or seller year shorthand, and do not infer early/late interchange. A bare hood does not establish included hinges, lock/striker/cable, prop hardware, seals/bumpers, washer equipment or trim. The checked hood diagram identifies no separate hood-insulator pad. Inspect used aluminum construction and mounting structure for corrosion, creases and prior repair; use qualified collision measurement/alignment and verify primary and secondary latch operation before driving.
