Recover refrigerant legally and diagnose pressures, clutch command, leaks and electrical control before replacement. Match compressor label, bracket/connector, production date and engine. A failed compressor can contaminate the system; replace the required drier/receiver and seals and follow the supplier flushing/oil procedure.

A/C service requires proper recovery equipment, and a compressor failure may require contamination control beyond the compressor alone.
