2005-2014 S197 Mustang Wiper Motor, Linkage, Arms and Park Diagnosis
US-market 2005-2014 S197 Mustang front windshield-wiper mechanism, split into 2005-2007 and 2008-2014 motor/linkage service families. Arms remain side-, suffix-, production- and equipment-sensitive. Cowl-water diagnosis and TSB 08-26-7 remain in S197-0031.
WHERE TO BUY
Open an exact listing, then confirm fitment, stock, price, and shipping with the seller before ordering.
Seller links checked . Prices and availability can change.
Diagnose the circuit before ordering: separate fuse, power, ground, multifunction-switch and park-command faults from a failed motor, binding pivots/linkage, loose or stripped arm splines, and incorrect crank/arm indexing. Match 2005-2007 versus 2008-2014 mechanism family, VIN/build, connector, full number, side and listing contents. Mark arm positions and preserve driver/passenger sides. Park the motor before attaching or indexing the crank and arms; incorrect indexing can drive a blade off-glass or into the cowl. Clear ice and debris before operation. Cowl debris can be inspected during access, but water intrusion, drains, junction-box damage and TSB 08-26-7 belong to S197-0031.
OEM numbers
Early 2005-2007 linkage 6R3Z-17566-ADorman 602-936 is a checked direct-OE-cross linkage and does not include mounting hardware. Early motor catalog entries 2C3Z-17508-AA and 4R3Z-17508-AA point to reman service number 6L1Z-17508-AARMconfirm whether a listing is motor-only, motor/crank, linkage or a complete assembly. Late 2008-2014 motor/crank 8R3Z-17508-A and linkage 8R3Z-17566-A are separate families and are not claimed to replace early parts. Arm examples: 2005 driver/LH 4R3Z-17527-AA and passenger/RH 4R3Z-17526-AA, with checked passenger replacement 7R3Z-17526-Blater examples include driver 7R3Z-17527-A and passenger 7R3Z-17526-A. Verify full suffix, production date and Base/GT/Shelby equipment.Supersession
Early catalog motor entries 2C3Z-17508-AA and 4R3Z-17508-AA -> reman service 6L1Z-17508-AARM. Checked passenger-arm path 4R3Z-17526-AA -> 7R3Z-17526-B. No early-to-late motor, linkage or arm supersession is asserted. Dorman 602-936 cross-references early linkage 6R3Z-17566-A but is an aftermarket direct-OE cross, not a Ford supersession.
Fitment

Aftermarket options
Dorman 602-936 is the checked 2005-2007 linkage-only aftermarket path and excludes mounting hardware. New late OEM motor/crank and linkage paths, plus used early and late assemblies, were observed. Listing titles are not reliable contents evidence: verify motor, crank, linkage, pivots, arms, hardware, connector and park function separately. Sold used assemblies and unavailable arms remain dated scarcity/content evidence, not orderable recommendations.
Before you buy
Match the 2005-2007 or 2008-2014 mechanism family, VIN/build, connector, full suffix, side and listing contents. Do not claim late 8R3Z motor/linkage parts replace early 6R3Z/6L1Z paths. Distinguish electrical command, motor, linkage/pivots, arm splines and park indexing. Park the motor before installing the crank or arms; do not drive when visibility requires unreliable wipers. Cowl debris may be inspected during access, but water intrusion, drains, junction-box damage and TSB 08-26-7 remain in S197-0031. Seller inventory and prices are dated observations.
