S197 Mustang GT/V6 Strut, Shock and Spring Package Selection

US-market 2005-2014 S197 Mustang GT and V6 factory-style damper/spring service, split by engine, body, year and suspension package. Boss 302, Shelby/GT500, Bullitt and other special suspension packages are excluded unless separately verified.

What you need to know

Choose one path. For Ford Performance M-18000-A, use only the Ford-listed lowered fastback package: direct 2005-2010 GT/V6 fastback coverage; 2011-2014 GT/V6 fastbacks require Ford Performance springs and M-18183-C. Do not imply an Eibach spring satisfies that Ford requirement. Eibach 35101.140 covers 2005-2010 4.6L GT and only the 2010 V6; 35125.140 covers 2011-2014 3.7L/5.0L coupe/convertible. For stock replacement, match VIN, body, engine, transmission, brakes, suspension/package, spring code and installed tags. S197-0014 remains the separate mount/clunk guide.

OEM numbers

Ford Performance lowered-fastback path: damper kit M-18000-A2011-2014 use in this reviewed path also requires Ford Performance springs and upper mounts M-18183-C. Ford's damper page references older spring identifiers M-5300-K/P and M-5300-Ncurrent GT spring pages use M-5300-KA and M-5300-PA, and no K-to-KA or P-to-PA supersession is asserted. M-5300-N is treated as an older V6 reference, not current availability. Eibach spring-only paths: 35101.140 for 2005-2010 4.6L GT and 2010 V6 coupe/convertible35125.140 for 2011-2014 3.7L/5.0L coupe/convertible. OEM AR3Z/BR3Z/DR3Z prefixes are not orderable fitment answersuse VIN, body, side, package and installed damper/spring tags.

Supersession

No universal 2005-2014 damper or spring supersession is published. M-18000-A is one Ford Performance lowered-fastback system, not a universal stock replacement. M-18183-C does not fit stock 2011-2014 struts; it is used there only with the early-style M-18000-A/C damper package. Eibach 35101.140 and 35125.140 are separate application branches. OEM suffixes remain VIN/body/engine/package specific.

Aftermarket options

Ford Performance's verified lowered-fastback system and separate Eibach spring-only applications are documented. Other shocks, quick struts and springs require exact manufacturer application data and compatible mounts, bump stops, travel and ride-height range. No Koni application is promoted because current sources conflict. Do not mix a broad marketplace year range into one universal package.

Before you buy

This GT/V6 guide does not cover Boss, Shelby/GT500, Bullitt or other special suspension packages. M-18000-A is recommended here only as the Ford-listed lowered-fastback system; 2011-2014 use requires Ford Performance springs and M-18183-C. Eibach applications are separate, and 35101.140 does not cover 2005-2009 V6. Stock replacements require VIN, body, package, spring code and installed-tag matching.
