2010-2014 Mustang Front-Door Window Regulators, Motors and Short-Drop Diagnosis

US/LHD 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Coupe and Convertible front-door power-window systems only. This guide separates RH/passenger from LH/driver regulators, seven-pin smart motors, switch position, door-ajar input, short-drop initialization and body-specific front glass. 2005-2009, rear-quarter windows, 2015-up S550, non-US/RHD cars, universal conversions and unsupported Coupe/Convertible glass interchange are excluded.

What you need to know

Confirm US/LHD 2010-2014, front door, side, body, installed connector and exact included components before ordering. The checked Ford workshop information says each seven-pin motor contains the window electronics and learns full-up position and the glass profile; one-touch-up and bounce-back are disabled until initialization succeeds. Mechanical repair, motor removal, regulator or motor replacement, glass work and channel lubrication can require de-initialization/initialization. Both Coupe and Convertible use short-drop logic, and each motor reads its own door-ajar input, so a window that will not drop or reseal is not proof of a failed regulator. Diagnose battery voltage, fuse, switch, wiring/connectors, door-ajar/latch input, motor initialization, regulator cable/track, loose glass, glass adjustment, weatherstrip/channel drag and obstruction before buying. Bounce-back can result from obstruction, out-of-adjustment glass, worn weatherstrip, channel drag or missing initialization. Use the exact workshop procedure after component work. The owner-manual recovery sequence is only for the stated symptom with doors closed: command full up and hold two seconds; if short drop still does not work, command full down and hold two seconds, then immediately command full up and hold two seconds. Keep hands clear and never use bounce-back override around people because override disables pinch protection. Coupe and Convertible front glass numbers differ; do not infer glass interchange from a shared regulator/motor listing. Convertible rear-quarter assemblies are outside this page.

OEM numbers

Ford front regulators without motor are RH/passenger AR3Z-6323208-A and LH/driver AR3Z-6323209-A. Separate seven-pin front motors are RH/passenger AR3Z-6323394-A and LH/driver AR3Z-6323395-A. Checked 2014 switch examples are RH/passenger single switch AR3Z-14529-AA and LH/driver double switch AR3Z-14529-CAthose switch numbers are year/position examples, not a blanket 2010-2014 interchange claim. Front glass is body-specific even though the checked catalog uses the same front regulator/motor family: Coupe RH 4R3Z-6321410-AA and LH 4R3Z-6321411-AAConvertible RH 4R3Z-7621410-AA and LH 4R3Z-7621411-AA. Dorman 751-258 is a checked LH/driver combined regulator-and-smart-motor aftermarket assembly with non-direct crosses to AR3Z-6323209-A and AR3Z-6323395-A. Seller catalogs identify 752-259 as an RH/passenger regulator-only alternative crossing AR3Z-6323208-A. Dorman 751-101 crosses AR3Z-7630306-AER3Z-7630306-AWLRA188 and is a convertible rear-quarter assembly, not a front-door part.

Supersession

No formal Ford supersession arrow is asserted for AR3Z-6323208-A, AR3Z-6323209-A, AR3Z-6323394-A or AR3Z-6323395-A. They are separate side- and component-specific catalog identities: regulator-only and motor-only must not be priced or ordered as one assembly unless the listing explicitly supplies both. Dorman 751-258 is an aftermarket combined LH assembly and 752-259 is seller-catalog aftermarket interchange language, not Ford supersession. Dorman 751-101 and its AR3Z-7630306-A / ER3Z-7630306-A / WLRA188 crosses are explicitly rejected rear-quarter-window matches.

Fitment

Aftermarket options

Dorman's manufacturer page supports 751-258 as a 2010-2014 Mustang LH/driver combined regulator-and-seven-pin smart-motor assembly and publishes non-direct OE crosses to the separate Ford regulator and motor numbers. A checked retailer supports 752-259 as an RH/passenger regulator-only alternative crossing AR3Z-6323208-A. Confirm side, seven-pin connector, anti-pinch/express logic, motor inclusion, hardware and current vehicle application before ordering; do not transfer a price between regulator-only and combined assemblies. Dorman 751-101 is a strong false friend because its broad 2010-2014 Mustang label masks a convertible rear-quarter application. Used regulators/motors require an exact readable number, side, connector, tested express/short-drop operation, straight tracks, dry electronics and return terms. Switch, latch/door-ajar input, glass, tracks and seals remain separate unless itemized.

Before you buy

US/LHD 2010-2014 front doors only. Confirm side, body, seven-pin connector and whether the listing is regulator-only, motor-only or combined. Diagnose switch/power, wiring, door-ajar input, initialization, glass adjustment and weatherstrip/channel drag before replacing parts. Short-drop failure and bounce-back do not by themselves condemn the regulator or motor. Coupe and Convertible front glass is different even where cataloged regulators/motors are shared. Keep hands clear; bounce-back override disables pinch protection. Exclude rear-quarter Dorman 751-101 and AR3Z/ER3Z-7630306-A listings.
