What you need to know

Match chassis generation, installed number, connector, cap/rotor and coil/ignition-module arrangement. Diagnose power, ground, coil output, crank/cam signals, timing and harness before replacing the complete distributor.

Supersession

S14 catalog revisions 22100-70F10 and 22100-70F11 resolve to 22100-70F12. That does not make the S14 unit a direct electrical replacement for S13 22100-53F11.

Fitment

Match chassis generation, installed number, connector, cap/rotor and coil/ignition-module arrangement. Diagnose power, ground, coil output, crank/cam signals, timing and harness before replacing the complete distributor.

Aftermarket options

New-old-stock, remanufactured and used stock distributors exist. Coil-on-plug caps retain the distributor for position sensing and are conversion parts, not stock distributor replacements.

Before you buy

S13 and S14 KA24DE distributor systems are not treated as plug-and-play equivalents. Match the number and connector, then test power, grounds, coil/module, position signals and mechanical timing before replacing the assembly.
