US/LHD BMW E46 Sedan and Touring Factory Headliner and Written Overhead-Contents Identification

US/LHD 1999-2005 BMW E46 Sedan and Sport Wagon/Touring factory molded headliner donors only, narrowed to checked sunroof/body/color branches. Prove both VINs/builds, Sedan versus Touring, production, sunroof/no-sunroof equipment, light gray/beige/black color, molded-board identity, curtain-airbag and pillar interfaces, visors/handles/lamps/microphone or wiring and written contents. Exclude Coupe, Convertible, Compact, E36/E9x, non-US/RHD assumptions, sunroof cassette interchange and crushed, cut, sagging, wet, moldy, smoke-, pest- or fire/flood-contaminated donors.

What you need to know

Start with both VINs/builds, body and option record. Photograph the entire face and backside, sunroof opening and corners, perimeter and pillar edges, lamp/visor/handle/microphone openings, all mounts and every included item. Measure board length/width and opening locations. Require a written inventory of board, pillars, visors, handles, lamps, microphone/antenna pieces, wiring, clips and fasteners. Reject crushed or cracked edges, detached fabric/foam, broken mounts, cut openings, stains, moisture/flood evidence, mold, odor, smoke, pests, fire damage or hidden repair. Protect the board flat in oversized freight; qualified curtain-airbag and trim handling is required.

OEM numbers

CHECKED BODY/COLOR HEADLINER IDENTITIES, NOT ONE E46 BOARD. Checked Sedan sunroof branches include 51447124316 light gray, 51447124317 beige and 51447124318 black/anthracite. Checked Touring sunroof examples include 51448256375 gray, 51448256376 beige and 51447028599 black. Sunroof sliding panel, pillars, visors, grab handles, lamps, microphones, antenna wiring, curtain-airbag clips, seals and fasteners are separate unless the seller inventories them.

Supersession

No cross-body supersession is asserted. The checked numbers remain separate Sedan/Touring and color branches. Similar appearance or the shared E46 chassis code does not authorize Sedan/Touring, sunroof/no-sunroof, color, Coupe/Convertible or overhead-equipment interchange.

Fitment

Start with both VINs/builds, body and option record. Aftermarket options

Professional recovering may preserve the correct original board if it is dry, straight and structurally intact. Replacement fabric kits do not correct a crushed board, wrong body/sunroof opening or missing mounts. Coupe/Convertible boards, universal sheets and unsafe curtain-airbag obstruction are outside this guide.

Match both VINs/builds, Sedan versus Touring, sunroof equipment, exact color/identity, board geometry, actual condition and written overhead contents. Coupe, Convertible and Compact boards are excluded; visors, handles, pillars, lamps, wiring, clips and fasteners are not implied.
