The checked first-generation BRZ wiring diagram shows two cooling-fan motors, FAN NO.1/NO.2/NO.3 relays, separate 25 A RDI and CDS fan fuses, ECM control and an A/C pressure input. The official owner information says the fans may start automatically with the ignition on when A/C is operating and/or coolant temperature is high, and it identifies an A/C-on cold-start observation as a basic fan-operation check except in freezing conditions. Use the current badge/year service procedure and scan data or an authorized active test to compare commanded operation with actual operation; do not bypass relays, jump an unknown circuit, disconnect sensors as a shortcut, or condemn an ECM from a symptom alone.
